In my third year of photography I have learned many useful things to help me advance in my photography career. This year I have learned how to photograph in a studio setting. I've learned about all the different kinds of equipment and lights and how to position and use them. I now know what lighting ratios are and how important they are when setting up the lights in a studio. Lighting ratios set the mood and tone of the photograph that you are going to capture. I have also gotten more comfortable with Photoshop and experimenting with it more and more each day. This year I have advanced at editing portraits, I can now make my model look the best he/she can look through Photoshop and the lens by lighting and composition.
When I am photographing I really enjoy taking portraits. I like to take portraits in a creative way. I like to take portraits outside with natural lighting and beautiful background.
When people see my work I want them to see how my mind and creativity work through the lens of a camera.
In my photography experience I have received Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art and Writing Contest with Balloons. I have been recognized in the Congressional Contest with the photograph, America. I have also received from the Cashman 2015 Spring Photo Contest, Honorable Mention with San Francisco, and First Place Overall with Seeing Through.
In all three of my high school years, I have been involved in photography, the women's varsity volleyball team and National Honor Society.
My future goals are to go to college and study elementary education, but I also want to find some classes, like photography or art, to allow me to be creative. I hope to be at a college that I can play volleyball for too.
